Donations are received by DonorConnection and its refurbishment partners. They are processed, data wiped, refurbished and then sold. Revenue from sales is given to selected charities.
Yes, as long as the device is functional and reusable, we'll provide a pre-paid UPS or USPS shipping label.
Only reusable laptops, phones and tablets can be converted into funds for charities. In general, functional devices that are less than seven years old have reuse value and are accepted for donations. Please recycle non-functional devices locally.

We erase data on all devices so you don't have to. If wiping your data and the operating system makes you feel more secure, feel free to do so. Need software for wiping data? Try KillDisk (www.killdisk.com), it's free and very effective.
Grab a used cardboard box and some padding. Old newspaper, bubble wrap, paper, or anything that is light and takes up volume will work for padding. Tape the shipping label to the top of the box and ship it.
It's OK to include chargers. But, in order to keep shipping costs to a minimum, we ask that software, bags, instructions and other items that don't connect to the laptop not be included.
We hope to only receive functional and reusable items. But if items are received that aren't functional we recycle with local, recyclers that are either R2 or Estewards certified.
Yes, DonorConnection is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. We email donors a tax receipt for each donation.
Pickups can only be arranged for businesses with ten or more computers. Businesses must be willing to box or palletize donations. We use third-party carriers to pick up pallets and boxes. If the quantity and quality is significant, the pickup can be free.
