Key benefits

  • Each donation has a unique record of what was donated and the charity it benefited.
  • Hardware specifications for each reusable computer is recorded and viewable on the passport. Details include the serial number, make, model, processor, and other hardware specifications.
  • A data destruction certificate is available for download.
  • Details recorded on Device Passport can be used to prepare itemized tax write-off documentation.

How it works

  • Donors fill out the donation form and enter the number of items they plan to donate.
  • Once the form is submitted ID numbers are created for each device that will get donated.
  • When the device is received, custom software is used to capture its hardware details and wipe the data.
  • These details are recorded on a webpage.
  • The ID number created for the device is associated with the webpage.
  • The ID numbers, with links to the Device Passports (webpages) are provided to the donor.
