LAPTOP DONATION KIT
The cost is $20 per kit
It includes the box, shipping and USB.
What happen to my laptop
Computers and phones are refurbished and sold on retail and wholesale sales channels. If the device is not functional, it will get recycled by a certified (R2 or Estewards) recycling company.
Why about my data
Data on all devices is securely wiped using industry-leading software, KillDisk. A certificate of data destruction with the device's serial number and the hard drive's serial number is uploaded to the device's Donation Passport after data has been wiped.
If you prefer to wipe the data on your device before mailing it in feel free to do so. You can order a bootable USB with KillDisk to do so or download it from the KillDisk website.
If you prefer to remove the hard drive, it's OK. We prefer laptops with hard drives because it reduces refurbishment costs. But some donors like to be extra cautious, which is understandable.
The Laptop Donation Kit is used for donating one laptop, up to 16" long and 15 pounds. The charger can be included in the box.
Shipping service is provided by UPS ground and is available to locations within the continental U.S. (sorry Alaska and Hawaii).
